2024 Specialized Plant Identification Course

This course is only being offered through ACEC NE for our members and partner agencies. 

The Specialized Plant Identification course will consist of two major components: an online set of lectures on identifying characteristics and species-specific traits of plants commonly found on either side of the wetland boundary in NE and the surrounding region; and three days of in-person training. For the in-person training component, two days will be devoted to field identification of common species of plants found in various vegetative strata in the eastern part of Nebraska and surrounding region. The third day will concentrate on grasses, sedges and rushes and will include a laboratory component for examination of characteristics under microscopic magnification.
